Hi Friends, here’s a look at our week!
HERSHEY, PA… WITHOUT CHOCOLATE?! We just got back from another great family trip, where we were as impressed with the food as we were with the roller coasters and everything to do there. And no Paleo Parents car trip starts without a BIG OL’ BAG OF CAR SNACKS. Wes munched on Inka Plantain Chips, Finn had a Sustainapak, and Cole was holding down the backseat with a Steve’s Paleogoods Krunch Bar. Everyone rock-paper-scissored over the last pack of Bubbas! (coupon codes below!)
You know we fully believe in not being perfectionists and enjoying treats every once in a while, but while in Hershey we did what we could to AVOID CHOCOLATE. Luckily, we were able to find plenty of awesome Paleo-friendly eats at Hershey Park – like trail mix and cinnamon almonds! The perfect snack for late-night admission in the park!
We even found a great ALLERGEN-FRIENDLY place to eat called The Outpost, that had impressive salads and pretty good gluten-free pizza (here is a link to the picture we took of their menu). Clearly it was all too much fun for Wesley, but nothing a cat nap on dad’s lap couldn’t fix!
The water park was a blast too, and Stacy’s Swimsuits for All halter swimsuit, Vital Proteins, Rx Bar Coconut Cacao, and Epic Liver Bar kept her FEELING GREAT inside and out!
We made some great VACATION MEMORIES, but it’s nice to be home. It’s probably all of Matt’s home-cooked meals made with love that we’ve been missing most, even the simple quick ones like Normandy vegetables (one of our recommended Costco buys) smothered in Tin Star Ghee (now available at One Stop Paleo Shop- squee!) topped with an egg. We did have salads on our trip, but not enough veg to meet this family’s usual quota!
Speaking of veg- check out the start of Cole’s veggie garden! We’re so proud of him for having the desire to grow something by himself, and also…that they are ACTUALLY GROWING! And we love that this type of activity is great for helping manage ADHD. Win for everybody!
Congrats to Our Friends
This girl is unstoppable! Our good friend Steph, from Stupid Easy Paleo just launched her own podcast, called Harder to Kill Radio, in which she is exploring all the ways that humans can be HEALTHIER, HAPPIER, and HARDER TO KILL.
We know you’ll find it inspirational! Listen –> HERE! And watch for an upcoming episode featuring Stacy. Of course, we’ll keep you posted on that too!
Want to meet Steph in person?! And the ever so talented Ciarra from Popular Paleo?! They are heading to the DC area in July and you won’t want to miss this epic event!
On Sunday, July 19 at 7:00 p.m. at One More Page Books in Arlington, VA, these two lovely ladies will be holding a mini-seminar complete with their best practical tips and tricks for putting their cookbooks to good use in the kitchen.

We’ve discovered the Reusit Online Store – which is like an EPIC GREEN, SUSTAINABLE, and REUSABLE STORE! We’re talking things like stainless steel drinking straws, glass water bottles, sealable reusable “wet bags” for wet swim suits, diapers or when accidents happen, and organic cotton reusable gift wrap (how cool is that?!).
Seriously cool stuff worth checking out! Take a look —> HERE!
But our FAVORITE PRODUCTS have been the Collapsible Market Basket andReusable Produce Bags. They have been perfect for shopping the farmer’s market! The market basket is sturdy enough to carry our water bottles and bring home everything from flowers to jars of honey and ferments. The reusable produce bags protect our veggies and we don’t end up with a dozen plastic bags at the end of the day.
We’ve also adopted this market basket as our new traveling snack bag! We’ve taken it on the road two weekends in a row now and it fits on the seat, between the seats, in the trunk, and is easy for little hands to reach in and grab snacks from. It folds away easily to not take up room when not being used, too! AND it won’t fall apart, like our usual paper grocery bags sometimes do.
To find the collapsible market bag, reusable product bags, and other awesome goods, shop the Reusit Store —> HERE!
