Raichini Muffins

Raichini Muffins

When  I came up with the name for this recipe, I was reminded of the movie Willow and the Brownies telling Madmartigan that he was a stupid Daikini. “I stole the baby from you, Daikini! While you were taking a peepee!” Now that I’ve alienated most of my audience with a reference to a moderately successful 25 year old movie, let’s talk about the farmer’s market and the plentiful zucchini we found! Stacy loves zucchini, particularly baking them. I has been, however, over 9 months since we last made any zucchini muffins. In fact, those of you who own Eat Like a...

Guest Post: Alex Boake, The Art of Keeping Real Food Fun

About six months ago or so I was posting to the Foodee Project and browsing the many delicious looking recipes that were posted when something unique caught my eye. It was the ancestral health movements very own resident artist, Alex Boake! You know that moment of discovery that happens when you run across something that hits about a half dozen of your interests at once? It doesn’t happen very often in your life, but when it does, it’s pretty spectacular. Here I ran into an amateur chef in the paleo world who was also a comic book artist interested in art for kids! We are very...

Samoa Brownies

Samoa Brownies

You know our good friend and illustrator, Amanda Gates, right? She’s been a tremendous help to us both on the website and as the artistic half of the Eat Like a Dinosaur design team (with Stacy). So when she asked for the Samoa Cake Balls from ELaD for her birthday, we really wanted to make them for her. Only one problem: cake balls are an incredibly long and involved process that we simply didn’t have the time for. So, we decided to try something else. A brownie version! Would you like a Samoa Brownie that may, in fact, have less sweetener but taste just as good? Samoa...

Willy Warned You!

Willy Warned You!

We were invited to do a guest post over at LucyInDaSkyWithDiamonds.com. Given all that we have going on, we don’t like doing guest posts, but I was intrigued by the idea of advocating paleo on a completely non-paleo blog. So I said I’d love to! On this fine evening, we’re watching Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (the awesome Gene Wilder one, of course) and it struck me how differently we treat children over adults. Here’s a movie from the 70s, based on a book from the 60s that hits every major problem that parents ought to avoid creating even to today. We have...

Stacy, the Face of Paleo in Woman’s World Magazine

Years ago, when we began blogging, we used to do these weekly round-ups of news articles linking to anything Paleo related in the news. It was a lot of work to keep track of, so when we discovered that Angelo’s awesome Podcast (Latest In Paleo) was doing it for us, we happily gave up the weekly news posting. However, this “news” is a little different. It’s not JUST any Paleo article in the media. It’s STACY IN THE MEDIA. A few months ago we were contacted by Woman’s World magazine to do an interview with them about Stacy’s story. She was hesitant,...

Strawberry Streusel Muffins

Because Stacy has been working so much, thus leaving me without a competent photographer, I’ve not done much cooking. In fact, the amount of US Wellness Meats hotdogs and scrambled eggs being consumed around here is nothing short of embarrassing. On the weekends, however, we pack a lot of family-centered activities in to make up for lost time. This Saturday, Stacy and the boys were thrilled to make it to their regular farmers’ market and returned with two quarts of super ripe strawberries. If you’ve ever had organic, just picked strawberries you know they don’t last...

Our 10 Year Honeymoon – 2012 Low Carb Cruise Picture Post

For Matt’s run-down of the 2012 Low Carb Cruise, read this post. This here post isn’t about all that; it’s about us, as a couple, enjoying our very first honeymoon – 10 years later. And if you missed the week of posting we did on our renewal ceremony from January, go check it out. First of all, I had NO idea that the cruise people make weird things with towels and put them on your bed. But rumor is, I might be the only person in the world that didn’t know that. In case I’m not, did you know that each evening when you come back to your room after dinner (and...
